Here at Nambour Early Learning Centre, our Early Childhood Teacher delivers a play-based Kindergarten program for 4-5-year-olds that prepares them to entre the schooling system, while supporting their developmental needs. Based around the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines the program helps to develop every child’s social, emotional, physical, intellectual and language abilities. Our free flow curriculum enables children to:

  • Build confidence and self-identity
  • Build relationships and cooperate with others
  • Explore ways to care for and respect the environment
  • Make decisions and choices independently, and with confidence
  • Strengthen their fine and gross motor skills
  • Express their thoughts and feelings through music, art, dance and play
  • Build positive approaches towards learning
  • Developing speech, reading, writing and numeracy skills

As a part of the weekly curriculum, the Kindergarten children receive a visit from Wildlife HQ, where they can get up close and personal to a variety of animals. This is a hands on approach to learning to care for the natural environment, and discover more about a wide range of animals.
